Boat and Vehicle Information
Vehicle Parking
The first line of defense in maintaining the security of Eaglehead as a private community is the LLA vehicle identification tag. All member vehicles will be issued a renewable parking tag. All LLA member vehicles must be registered and identified with an official LLA tag. The new tags will be sent with annual membership information and will be renewed yearly through the use of a unique sticker. PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD THE TAG, IT IS RENEWABLE!. To register a vehicle any other time of the year, contact the LLA office at (301) 831-6400, ext. 10 or email the make, model, year, color, and tag number information to edebonis@lakelinganore.org. The LLA vehicle ID tag must be affixed to either the rear view mirror post to be considered valid. When using LLA amenities please ensure that your tag is properly displayed and protected against theft. Vehicles without the properly placed ID tags are subject to towing. Please affix ID tag(s) as soon as they are received.
Do Not Transfer― Vehicle ID stickers are not transferable to other vehicles and should not be used for visitor/guest vehicles. LLA does cross check state issued license plate numbers against LLA vehicle tag numbers. Vehicles displaying a LLA parking tag that are not registered with LLA may be towed at the vehicle owners expense.
New Vehicles― When purchasing a new vehicle, please transfer the tag to the new vehicle and contact the LLA office as noted above to change the vehicle information.
Towing
It is critical that LLA members keep vehicles registered and current. The LLA has an agreement with a private towing company to patrol the beaches, common areas, and other areas to remove vehicles that are not authorized to use those areas. This action is to secure the amenities and the community against trespassers and provide access for residents. Vehicles that do not display a valid LLA tag are subject to towing at the owners expense.
Also, vehicles that do not display valid state issued license plates may be subject to towing at the owners expense. This applies to vehicles parked at amenities or on any Lake Linganore Association right-of-way.
Towing Fees ―For residents, impoundment or towing fees, as well as other applicable fees begin at $75. For non-residents the towing fees begin at $150, with other fees applicable. These fees are not collected by the LLA. The LLA does not reimburse towing fees.

Guest Vehicles
Every LLA member is responsible for his/her guests while in the community. Please make certain that if a guest will be staying with you for an extended length of time that you contact the LLA office at the number listed above to obtain guest parking passes. These passes are good for extended parking on Eaglehead roads and for the pool/tennis court parking lots only. When having overnight visitors at your home, it is recommended that you contact the LLA office at your earliest convenience to obtain the number of passes needed to cover all guest vehicles; this serves as a notice to your neighbors that the vehicles are authorized to be parked on your street. In cases where a large number of vehicles are involved, special parking arrangements may need to be worked out with LLA staff to ensure that streets are not blocked and neighbors are not inconvenienced.
Lake Parking ― The guest parking passes are not valid for parking at the dams and beaches; only properly identified member vehicles are permitted to park in the beach/dam parking areas.
If you intend to invite people to join you at the beaches, please direct guests/visitors to park in the Coldstream Pool parking lot. Guests must then be driven to the lake area in a member vehicle.
Golf Cart Registration
Golf Carts are to be registered and have a current registration decal. Golf carts are permitted to traverse certain trails within the community. Any operator of a golf cart must possess a valid state issued drivers license. Remember, golf carts are illegal for use on LLA roads, but may be operated on certain trails within the community.
Boat and Boat Rack Registration
All boats used on any of the Eaglehead lakes in the community must be registered and have a current registration decal. The cost to register a boat is $15. Registration typically occurs through the assessment invoice process and decal are mailed with membership cards but this registration process can be done at any time of the year. Please contact 301-831-6400, ext. 10 for information. Each boat will receive two decals; one decal is placed on one side of the front of the boat and the other is to be placed on the rear opposite side of the boat.
Boat racks to store your boat are available on two of the Eaglehead lakes― Lake Linganore and Lake Merle. DO NOT place our boat on a rack without first contacting the LLA at 301-831-6400, ext. 17 or by emailing Ellen Debonis at edebonis@lakelinganore.org. All boat racks are leased whether a boat is on the rack or not.
Gasoline / Diesel Engines
Gasoline / diesel engines are not permitted on any boat being operated on any of the Eaglehead lakes, even if the engine is mounted but not used. The lakes are a main source of drinking water supply for the region and are protected from gas / diesel engine use by an agreement with the City of Frederick and Frederick County. Only rescue services or LLA maintenance boats are permitted to use gas engines monitoring, maintenance, or emergency puropses.
